State Department Store

Ulaanbaatar's classic department store on Peace Avenue, with a whole floor of souvenirs, cashmere and traditional clothes.

The State Department Store (Ikh Delgüür, "the big shop") has been the city's main store since Soviet times. The souvenir floor near the top is the easiest one-stop place for gifts: felt slippers and toys, cashmere, deel robes, art, chess sets and postcards.

There's also a supermarket, clothing and electronics, plus cafés and money exchange nearby on Peace Avenue.
