Domestic flights in Mongolia

Fly to the Gobi, Khuvsgul or the Altai and save days of driving. Local companies can book domestic flights for you.

Airlines & routes

MIAT, Aero Mongolia and Hunnu Air fly from Ulaanbaatar to Dalanzadgad (Gobi), Mörön (Khuvsgul), Ölgii and Khovd (Altai) and other provincial towns.

Many routes fly only a few times a week, more often in summer. Plan your trip around the flight days.

Baggage limits on domestic flights are low, often around 15–20 kg checked. Check your ticket, and pack light for the countryside.

A popular plan: fly one way and drive back, or fly to the Altai where the roads are longest. Arrange a driver to meet you at the other end.

Domestic flights fill up in July; book as soon as your dates are fixed.
