Cafés & coffee
Fairfield West Café
Khovd outpost of the Fairfield café-guesthouse, roasting its own coffee and serving Western breakfasts and fresh bakes — a handy base for trips into the Altai.
A sister venture to the well-known Fairfield in Tsetserleg, this café sits within a small guesthouse and tour base in Khovd. It's a calm, traveller-oriented spot to plan trips to Jargalant mountain, Munkhairkhan or nomad family stays in western Mongolia.
The coffee is roasted on site, and the bakery turns out daily cakes and cinnamon rolls. The menu covers Western-style breakfasts such as pancakes, eggs on toast and a full English, plus sandwiches to eat in or take away, with a soup of the day in winter.
